I just read this article and was too amused by it. Google, who loves to claim their search engine is being proactive against spammers and also closely monitoring webmasters sites with the “highly intelligent” algorithm has apparently marked their own blog as spam.
This just brought a big smile to my face. Google, the “Don’t be Evil” people apparently are proving that they love to dish out the rules, but don’t like to follow them. Here is my favorite quote from the article:
“according to Sean Carlson, a Google spokesman.
“Blogger’s spam classifier misidentified the Custom Search Blog as spam,” he said via e-mail on Wednesday. Typically Google notifies blog owners when it has spotted content associated with spam on their Web sites to give them a chance to clear up any misunderstandings.
However, that didn’t work out in this case. “The Custom Search Blog bloggers overlooked their notification, and after a period of time passed, the blog was disabled.””
Not only does Google apparently classify its own custom search tool as spam but also they don’t read their own emails they send themselves about it. Ok, This Is short but I had to post it, perhaps Google is human after all making mistakes. If only they would give us webmasters the same considerations. Instead when we get marked as “spam” sites we either have lengthy battles in front of us or get permanently sandboxed. Its nice they decided to bend the rules for themselves!
